Who We Are

OUR FAITH STATEMENT (WHAT WE BELIEVE)

At Faith Fire Christian Church, we base all of our beliefs on the authority of Scripture. In every way, we strive to maintain biblical standards of living and leadership. We believe that living life according to God’s Word is the way to an abundant, fulfilling life. WE BELIEVE:

In Jesus

Jesus Christ is the Way to God. He is His Son, fully human and fully Divine. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, died on the cross, shed His blood for our sins, and rose again on the third day. Out of His great love for us, Jesus Christ died so that each one of us might have a personal relationship with God the Father. If we believe in Him, we are saved!

“Jesus explained, ‘I am the Way, I am the Truth, and I am the Life. No one comes next to the Father except through union with me. To know me is to know my Father too.’” JOHN 14:6 TPT

In the Father

Our Father just happens to be God, the Creator of the universe. And some very good news is: He is not mad at us; He is madly in love with us. Out of His great love for us, He was willing to

sacrifice His beloved Son, Jesus, to die for our sins so that we can be reconciled with Him and adopted into His family as His very own children.

“For this how much God loved the world—he gave his one and only, unique Son as a gift. So now everyone who believes in him will never perish but experience everlasting life.” JOHN 3:16 TPT

In The Holy Spirit

Jesus said He had to leave the earth so that the Holy Spirit could come in and be with us. If you believe in Jesus, the Holy Spirit is your God-guide, your Comforter, your Counselor, and anything else you need. The fruit of His work in our lives is evidenced

by growing amounts of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness and self-control as we grow in Him.

“And I will ask the Father and he will give you another Savior, the Holy Spirit of Truth, who will be to you a friend just like me—and he will never leave you. The world won’t receive him because they can’t see him or know him. But you will know him intimately, because he will make his home in you and will live inside you.” JOHN 14:16-17 TPT

The Trinity

We believe in one God who exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe that God the Father is the Creator of the world and is actively involved in humanity. We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who came to this earth as Savior of the world. We believe that the Holy Spirit is continuing the work of Jesus upon the earth.

“Now go in my authority and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.” MATTHEW 28:19 TPT

The Bible

The Bible is God’s written word to humankind. God breathed, and the Holy Spirit inspired men to write the Bible. That is why we believe it is the Truth and does not contain errors. It is as relevant today as it has ever been to help us live our best lives, and it is alive!

“Every Scripture has been written by the Holy Spirit, the breath of God. It will empower you by its instruction and correction, giving you the strength to take the right direction and lead you deeper into the path of godliness.” 2 TIMOTHY 3:16 TPT

Relationship with God

We believe that every believer should be in a growing relationship with Jesus by obeying God’s Word, yielding to the Holy Spirit and being conformed to the image of Christ.

“I’m not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don’t get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but

I’ve got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us on onward—to Jesus. I’m off and running, and I’m not turning back.” PHILIPPIANS 3:12-13 MSG

Salvation

We believe that Jesus died on the cross and shed His blood for our sin. We believe that salvation is only found by placing our faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We believe that Jesus rose from the dead and is coming again.

“Our faith in Jesus transfers God’s righteousness to us and he now declares us flawless in his eyes. This means we can now enjoy true and lasting peace with God, all because of what our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One, has done for us.”

ROMANS 5:1 TPT

“But Christ proved God’s passionate love for us by dying in our place while we were still lost and ungodly! And there is still so much more to say of his unfailing love for us! For through the blood of Jesus we have heard the powerful

declaration, ‘You are now righteous in my sight.’ And because of the sacrifice of Jesus, you will never experience the wrath of God.” ROMANS 5:8-9 TPT

Water Baptism

We believe that water baptism is a symbol of the cleansing power of the blood of Christ and a testimony of our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

“And that water is a picture of baptism, which now saves you, not by removing dirt from your body, but as a response to God from a clean conscience. It is effective because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.” 1 PETER 3:21 NLT

Communion

We believe in regularly receiving Communion as an act of remembering the sacrifice that Jesus made for us through dying on the cross.

“…The Master, Jesus, on the night of his betrayal, took bread. Having given thanks, he broke it and said, ‘This is my body, broken for you. Do this to remember me.’ After supper,

he did the same thing with the cup: ‘This cup is my blood, my new covenant with you. Each time you drink this cup, remember me.’” 1 CORINTHIANS 11:24-26 MSG

Our Vision Statement

To see every individual transformed and made complete in Christ, living in His
fullness and walking boldly in His authority.

Our Mission Statement

To guide people into a deeper relationship with Christ, equipping them to embrace
their identity in Him, grow in faith, and impact the world through His power and love.

The vision and mission come with four special blessings with supporting scriptures:

  1. “I shall not be sick”:
This declaration is rooted in the belief that God is our healer. Scripture reminds us of God’s promise to restore health and deliverance from sickness. For example, Isaiah 53:5 states, “But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.” Similarly, Exodus 15:26 declares, “If you listen carefully to the LORD your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the LORD, who heals you.” These verses encourage believers to trust in God’s promise of healing and divine protection.
  2. “I shall not be poor”:
This blessing reflects a trust in God’s provision and the abundance that comes from His favor. Scriptures such as Deuteronomy 8:18 remind us, “But remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth,” indicating that true prosperity is a gift from God. Additionally, Proverbs 10:22 affirms, “The blessing of the LORD brings wealth, without painful toil for it,” reinforcing the idea that God’s favor results in genuine prosperity that is free from the burdens of excessive worry or hardship.
  3. “I shall not die young”:
The promise of long life is a recurring theme in the Bible, where God assures His people of protection and longevity. Psalm 91:16 says, “With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation,” promising not only longevity but also the blessing of God’s salvation throughout one’s life. This assurance of divine protection and extended life is seen as a sign of God’s care and faithfulness to those who walk in His ways, encouraging believers to live with hope and expectancy for the future.
  4. “I must make heaven”:
This declaration is a commitment to living a life that is focused on eternal rewards rather than temporary earthly gains. It echoes the call found in Matthew 6:33, “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well,” emphasizing that by prioritizing God’s kingdom, one aligns their life with heavenly purposes. Additionally, Philippians 3:20 reminds us, “But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ,” which inspires believers to live with the ultimate goal of eternal life in heaven, making it a central pursuit in their daily walk with God.

Each of these declarations is more than a promise—they are a declaration of faith in the power, provision, protection, and eternal promises of God as revealed through Scripture. They serve as daily reminders for believers at Faith Fire Christian Church to trust in God’s comprehensive plan for their lives.

History of Faith Fire Christian Church

Faith Fire Christian Church, formerly known as Word Miracle Mission International was established in 2008 by a small group of dedicated believers in Igbogbo Ikorodu, Lagos, under the leadership of Apostle John Iseghohi and Prophetess Faith Iseghohi. What began as a modest gathering soon blossomed into a vibrant congregation, driven by a shared passion for worship, community service, and spiritual growth. Over the years, the church earned a reputation for its heartfelt worship services, robust outreach programs, and commitment to serving the local community. As the congregation grew, Faith Fire expanded its ministries to include youth programs, family support initiatives, and various community engagement efforts, reflecting its core belief in living out the gospel in practical, impactful ways.

In its early years, the church experienced rapid growth, fueled by dynamic leadership and a strong sense of community. However, in recent years, Faith Fire Christian Church has encountered a plateau in membership and engagement. This stagnation has led church leaders to reflect on its legacy and seek new ways to ignite spiritual revival and renew its mission. Recognizing the need for fresh vision and innovative approaches, the leadership has initiated a search for a new pastor—a pivotal move intended to reinvigorate the church’s outreach, deepen community connections, and steer the congregation toward transformative growth.

WHAT IS SALVATION?

Salvation is deliverance from the consequences of sin. Sin separates us from God and incurs his wrath, but anyone who’s made peace with Him shouldn’t fear death. If you’re saved don’t fear Satan’s clutches. A relationship with Jesus gives you the path to everlasting life! If you’ve turned from sin and follow Jesus you can rest easy! Heaven is waiting for you when you leave this world.

John 3:16, Acts 4:12

“For there are three that testify: the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and the three are in agreement.” (1 John 5:7-8)

  • We believe in God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit, who exist as one God in three persons, working together in unity.
  1. The Lordship of Jesus Christ

“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.'” (John 14:6)

  • Jesus Christ is the Son of God, fully divine and fully human, who came to redeem mankind.
  • He is the only way to salvation, reconciliation with God, and eternal life.
  1. Salvation by Grace Through Faith

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.” (Ephesians 2:8-9)

  • Salvation is a gift from God that cannot be earned by works but is received through faith in Jesus Christ.
  1. The Indwelling & Baptism of the Holy Spirit

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be My witnesses…” (Acts 1:8)

  • The Holy Spirit dwells in every believer, guiding, teaching, and empowering us for victorious Christian living.

  • We believe in faithful giving of tithes and offerings as an act of worship, obedience, and gratitude to God.

Tithing supports the work of the church, advances the gospel, and brings financial blessings as promised in Scripture.

WATER BAPTISM

1. Baptism marks the entrance into the Christian family

A new believer in Christ needs a spiritual family, a family of the faith in Jesus. We are brothers and sisters in Christ, and we need each other to grow in this faith. Being baptized marks a beginning of a journey of faith together with the family of Christian believers. Baptism seals the Christian union of brotherly love in service to God. Paul named baptism as one of the things that unify a body of Christian believers: Ephesians 4:4

2. Baptism is a public confession of faith

The nature of baptism is that of a public act. When a new believer is baptized, he or she is giving a public testimony of his or her faith in Jesus as others are witnessing this public identification with Christ and the Christian church. Jesus taught his disciples the importance of living the faith in public as well as in private. Jesus challenged his disciples to confess their faith before others and to walk before others as his disciples (Matthew 10: 32-3; 16: 13-17, 24). Baptism presents an opportunity to the new believer to confess before others that Jesus is Lord and Savior.

COMMUNION

The holy communion is an important way to understand and continue to acknowledge Christ’s act. This sacrifice is the basis of the Christian worldview and should not be downplayed. The Lord’s supper signifies the New Covenant with Jesus Christ being the sacrificial lamb for humanity (1 Corinthians 5:7).
